Story
The Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro has taken its first steps toward introducing transformative programs— programs that could elevate Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes (TSVH) beyond the standard of typical skilled nursing facilities.

Promoting Therapeutic Programming for Veterans restores Strength Through Healing Veterans who often return from service carrying invisible wounds—post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, and the lingering effects of combat stress. Regardless of Age therapeutic programs tailored specifically for veterans offer a powerful path to recovery, reintegration, and renewed purpose.
Why It Matters:
Therapeutic programs create safe spaces for veterans to process trauma, rebuild trust, and reconnect with themselves and others. These programs are designed with military culture in mind, often led by professionals trained in trauma-informed care.

The the current population across all TSVH locations is approximately 80% male and 20% female, therapeutic activities could spark a new level of engagement and excitement. Creating programs for these individuals will give an opportunity for purpose, a sense of community and belonging.

For that to happen, we need continued support of our community. Organizations like the Angels for Veterans play a vital role, and their fundraising efforts and advocacy will be key in turning this dream into a reality.
